4.0 out of 5 stars Something Different June 11, 2008
Shadows of The Heart is a riveting novel by Lord’Williams. Williams takes the reader into the world of love and destruction. At first glance, this story looks like a regular contemporary fiction novel about infidelity in a marriage, but it’s so much more. This story is full of secret government operations, supernatural powers, and biblical references that will really keep the reader’s attention. There’s even a cliff-hanger ending that will definitely lead to a sequel. Shadows of The Heart is an engrossing novel that gives readers something out of the ordinary.

4.0 out of 5 stars (RAW Rating 3.5) Things we don’t understand, August 14, 2008

The RAWSISTAZ Reviewers (RAWSISTAZ.com and BlackBookReviews.net) – See all my reviews
SHADOWS OF THE HEART by Lord’ Williams is a chilling tale of people with extraordinary powers who aren’t terribly aware they have them. William and Yvonne Green are having marital problems and her children agree she should be the one to leave. Yvonne goes to the Caribbean with her partner at the police department, Robert Wells. While there, she runs across a young woman who leads her to a relative of hers who understands the gift Yvonne has. The things the old woman tells Yvonne terrify her and come close to making her lose her mind. She goes home with a new attitude, even though she is a bit afraid of how her husband is going to react. What she doesn’t know is he and the children also have powers and they already know she’ll be back.William has not been an angel either. He has many women, some of whom still love him and want to be with him. He has been playing around on Yvonne most of their twenty-five year marriage. Can he clean up his act? Will Yvonne be willing to try to make the marriage work?It is an interesting read and certainly brought out the last days Christians are talking about. It explores who or what, perhaps, God really created in Genesis besides Adam and Eve. It was something of a stunner. The novel ended in a way that shouts “sequel on the way.” The only problem was it could have used a bit more editing.

Shadows of the Heart started off with a lack of intensity but once the story line developed the pages began to flow. I was intrigued with the different aspects of the bible he placed in the book. The whole concept was original with the main character being a angel. It described somethings in revelations and the ending of the world. But not in a scary sense. The romance between the characters were genuine. I was on the edge of my seat wondering what would happen as the story climaxed. Although it wasn’t my typical genre I would pick up, I would consider reading another one of his works. I think it was a okay start for Lord WilliamsDee Jamison

A homegirl of mines told me to read this book cause she luved it…yo so far I’m luving it too…flipping them pages cause it’s fire…hollaThis was a damn good book…I’m glad my homegirl told me bout this book or I would’ve missed out big time yo…
3.5 STARSInteresting read. I was warned that it had a slow start and I’m glad because the first I’ll say about 20% is a little rough. I think it’s a problem with information delivery. It’s so much at the beginning that the transitioning is not smooth and flowing.Once you get over the hump the story flows and you just keep wonder, okay…where is he going.

The synopsis is a good highlight of the story so I will not repeat that part. I loved all the characters though. Once the author could settle down into the story and focus on the characters I felt the story’s pull.

Yvonne and William are very complexed characters and I see why another book is needed. In this first book, we barely get to scratch the surface of these two or their special kids. But I LOVE the scenes that showed William with his kids. So much of their future is wrapped up in their past that it takes a while to uncover the story so the book ended right when it got really good. I was waiting to see what would happen when Yvonne and William got together. Both of them can’t seem to get out of their own way. William it seem is coming around, he’s just blind to the end result. These books with people not knowing their true identity can get a little tedious if it drags out to long, hopefully more will be revealed the next book and they can get started on their path.

I’ll be honest, I still don’t quite understand what is going on but I’m looking forward to seeing how this will play out with William, Yvonne and the rest of the players.

(I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.)

Wonderful story with characters that you can feel for. Will look for more from this Author.
I re-read this book. Still loved it and was still a little confuse. Love the Bible aspect of the book. This is definitely a hard book to put down. And you will love all the characters. Great book.

  2. Another excellent review Shingo! I’m very impressed on the likeness of the final product to Mogudan’s “cover il82ttrasion”&#lu30; O_OThe only worry I have in buying the Feanne figure is that it might lean over time, since the figure stands on one leg with that “top-heavy” bearing… ^_^;
